Safari Giant Tortoise

Found predominantly on the Aldabra Atoll and Galapagos islands, the giant tortoise is a large member of the Testudines order that can grow to be over 900 pounds and 4 feet long. Their size is a result of islands gigantism, which occurs when animals are isolated on an island or islands.

Because giant tortoises aren’t their own species and instead can be any subspecies of the Galapagos or Aldabra tortoise, they can come in many different color variants. However, most are predominantly brown and dark green.
